The shower is a place that becomes dirty extremely fast. It does not look dirty when you first step into it, but the longer you stand there the dirtier it starts to become.

Maintaining a clean shower can be one of the most difficult jobs because everyone showers and therefore everyone leaves behind shampoo build up, hair products, water spots, soap marks. So how can you keep your shower looking clean?

Take a look at the 10 tips below to help maintain that clean shower!

  1. The first tip is to keep a squeegee in your shower and use it after every shower. This will help the glass and tile stay clean and free of any mineral or water spots.

  2. A toothbrush can be used to scrub places that are hard to get too such as faucets, spouts, behind the toilet, and in between tiles.

  3. To clean the shower head all you need is a plastic bag, vinegar, and some aluminum foil.
Place the bag over one end of it and then wrap the aluminum foil around the other end to create a seal that will help prevent any leakage when you pour in the vinegar.
Pour half a cup of white vinegar into the bag and let it hang from the shower head for an hour. Remove and then rinse with water!

  4. To keep the toilet clean it is best to invest in a toilet cleaning brush, or simply use a baby wipe – yes I said a baby wipe – and this will help to prevent watermarks and mineral build up on your toilet.

  5. Wooden toilet seats get damaged after a while and need to be refinished, but this can take time and money so instead try using car polish on the wood! This will help to restore the shine and even protect the wood from any water damage.

  6. A cotton swab can help you get into those hard to reach areas and help you clean the shower head and spout.

  7. Use a microfiber cloth to dust your bathroom because it will trap dust instead of pushing it around, which will help you stay away from those dusty areas as much as possible!

  8. When cleaning those hard to reach places try using an old wine cork! This is such a nifty trick and it will help you remove mineral and water spots without any hassle.

  9. A simple toothbrush can be used to scrub soap scum from the tiles – simply dip the toothbrush into a mixture of baking soda and dish soap and scrub away at those stubborn areas! You may need to repeat this a few times to loosen up the build up.

  10. To help you maintain that clean shower all you need to do is use a squeegee after each shower, or even invest in a rain head! A rain head will help pull water off of your ceiling and walls instead of allowing it to sit there and can be wiped away effortlessly!

By following these ten top tips you can maintain a clean shower and keep your bathroom looking spotless. Remember the longer you let some of this build up sit, the more difficult it will be to get rid of! So remember these 10 easy steps to help keep that clean shower going, because who wants to stand in dirty water? I know I don’t!
